Disability Inclusion Groups at Wood That Works

Wood That Works strongly believes that everyone should be given the opportunity to be creative and have a go at working with wood. Preparing individuals for independent living and building social connections are key aims of our projects. Being able to use real tools is very important for building confidence and skills that can be readily transferred to the real world.

With over 10 years of experience working closely with local disability inclusion groups, we have developed our methods of communication and adapted our tools to enable individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities to saw, hammer, nail and have fun constructing wooden objects they can feel proud of.

"Wood that Works is a brilliant resource for young people with disabilities

- building social and communication skills as well as providing many practical skills which young people can transfer to everyday life."
