Women only workshops at Wood That Works
About the sessions: Our women only woodwork sessions break traditional societal stereotypes by teaching carpentry skills to girls and women using a combination of hand and machine methods. We provide a friendly and relaxed environment where women of all ages, levels of experience and backgrounds can come together to learn, be creative, skill share, build new relationships and have fun. Beyond the introductory course, the workshops are non-prescriptive so as long as women can imagine it they can make it!

When: Workshops run on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 11.30am until 1.30pm. Our 2 hour weekly sessions can be booked in 6-week blocks. For the timetable, click here.

Costs: Classes are booked half termly (6 weeks) and cost £35 per session. Our introductory courses can be joined at any time in the term as long as there is availability. All tools and materials are provided and subsidised places are reserved for women on benefits. If you would like to find out about the availability of these spaces please email us directly here.

"Discovering these sessions was a lifeline. I found them therapeutic and calming. I also discovered how much I Iove carpentry. The facilitators gently encourage and build confidence and the other women provide encouragement and companionship."
