Kids clubs at Wood That Works

About the sessions: In our fully equipped workshop, children safely learn basic carpentry skills using a variety of real hand tools and machinery (electric drill and scrollsaws). Classes are mostly non-prescribed, meaning children can use their imagination to design and make unique wooden creations out of a large selection of upcycled wood. Whilst some children like working independently others like to work on joint projects. Our classes are fun, relaxed and we encourage skill sharing and celebrate everyone's creative achievements.

When: Our weekly classes are 1 hour and 10 minutes and are suitable for 8 years old and above. Classes take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays 3.50-5pm, 5.15 - 6.25 pm and Wednesdays 3.50-5pm. For information about our holiday schemes please contact the Camden Summer University.

Costs: All tools and materials are supplied. Classes are booked termly (usually 12 weeks) and cost £17.50 per session. We do reserve free and sliding scale places for local children from families on low-income or benefits. To check availability please email us directly here.

"My son feels bored in school and he struggles at home too. Every day he wishes that 'today could be woodworking day',  The club has given him so much confidence and focus. The facilitators are genuinely a pack of life savers..."
